Had car 12 weeks and driving down motorway car lost. All power engine running but no power no ev so had to freewheeling into verge . Stopped engine tried restarting engine running but only at 1000 revs no power to move any ideas please car in dealers but still like information of any problems others have had thanks shaun
 
Hmmm, nerve wracking! I seem to recall one similar incident reported here several years ago, but no subsequent diagnosis. It is certainly not a common problem - hopefully the dealership will fix it and you will then have the reliability that most of us have enjoyed!
 
It doesn't sound like you had quite the same cause in your case, but it is possible to knock the drive lever from "D" to "R" when driving. This causes the car to go into Neutral with complete power loss. Just shove it to Drive when that happens.
