Has anyone tried activating the unused "SW3" on the 2018 key fobs? I know about the extra button on the older remotes, but I don't think I have heard this one being discussed yet.

If you open the key fob you see the round switch on the edge for disabling the charge timer is labeled as "SW4", but on the other side the unit has a blank round button and inside it is labeled as "SW3".

I have tried shorting the contact while near the car, but no obvious action. At least it is not a self destruct switch.

Does anyone know what SW3 can do?

If it is for the electric tailgate, you need the following things for this to work.

1. You must have the electric tailgate.
2. The button on the dashboard must be set to enable.
3. You must push the tailgate button twice to open the tailagate.

:)

If you don't have 1. you're pretty much out of luck.

No, SW5 is for the Electric tailgate. SW3 does transmit a signal for remote heating, but they seem to have told the car to ignore it starting with the 2017 model year.
