I have a 2016 model with 52000 km and have noticed that the rear springs are no longer strong enough. In fact they were in my opinion never strong enough for using an SUV as it should be used, i.e. carrying a lot of gear with you and your family. Under heavy load the car sags enormously. So, off to trusted www.mad-vertrieb.de and ordering reinforced springs to the PHEV, the only company I know having them. They delivered quickly to Sweden and this weekend I had the not so fun task of changing springs. You should know that all-in-all you need to remove 9 panels in the boot in order to access the two bolts holding the strut on each side. Mitsubishi has cleverly made a coupe of lids you can open in the panels but no lid will give access to all 4 bolts. Only one on the right side:-( After that removal, the removal of struts and change of springs went smoothly. You need heavy duty springtensioners to change the springs.
Then fiddling all panels back. Grrrr
But in the end the cars is behaving much better already. I will try under very heavy load this summer.
