Hi All
and i must say what a great forum this is :D

OK question i have just have my charger point ev charger pod fitted by Carbon Zero North Wales
and its an A1 job and 100% free , I went for the Rolec pod but i wasent expecting a meter with a GSM Comms
it was fitted friday and i wasent back to speak with the engineer .........whats it the GSM for?
 
It appears that as part of the deal funding the charge points, OLEV are using the GSM metering to collect statistics on charging and how often they are used for research.

I guessed it may be something like that , i wonder if you can connect to it?

It's GSM as in mobile phone, not wifi. Presumably it does have a phone number, but I seriously doubt that it would answer even if you knew the number to call.
 
it'll be a data-only sim, most vending machines and similar systems use them these days. We have plenty for some of our equipment.
