Hi,
We are about to go on holiday & I want to put external DVD players in the back of the outlander to keep the kids occupied. The DVD players are from our other car (Prius+) and are powered via a 12V DC connection. Would a 12V DC to 5V USB be the correct lead to power the players from the Outlander USB port?
Many thanks,
Gray9

Are you planning to use something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Boost-Cabl ... 3489678897 ?

You would need to read how much power the DVD are consuming ... still ... I don't believe via a USB (ideally from this adapter max power is 9W ) is possible to power 2 DVD players

I believe you should use a 12V plug from the car instead, and directly use this for power the DVD

Hi, yes that was the type of lead I was thinking of, but I hear what you say about using the main power output. So something like this you think?

I think the situation still is a bit confused...

When your DVD Player needs 12 V, just plug it in.
The Outlander has 12 V sockets which are dedicated for running such items...

I have the Halfords twin DVD system plugging into the 12v socket in the arm rest and it all works properly. The USB socket is then free to top up the mobile 'phone with the Sat Nav (I have a 3h with no MMCS) connected to the "cigar lighter" :ugeek:
