Done by Auto Express, they were very pleased with the results of their test drive. To sum it up, they said:
As long as Mitsubishi gets the price right, the Outlander PHEV has the potential to be a game-changer. With some of the best economy figures on the road, four-wheel drive and a spacious interior, it will appeal to lots of buyers. It’s a pity there’s not enough space for seven seats, but it’s hard not to be blown away by the car’s engineering brilliance.

In the UK, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV is rated at 143 MPG, and 49g/km of emissions. The Outlander plug-in hybrid also qualifies for the Government’s £5,000 electric car grant.

One thing they mentioned was that the handling was a little 'heavy and sluggish'. However, they were driving a test mule with batteries up high in the trunk. The production version of the Outlander PHEV will have batteries in the floor which will help lower the centre of gravity, and likely improve handling as well.

This is good news for Outlander PHEV forum. If UK customers are impressed then its more likely to impress the rest of the world.

Wow a 5 grand grant from the government, that is pretty neat, really makes the decision easier. Does anybody know the amount U.S. citizens are getting for the Mitsubishi Outlander.

And also is there a difference between a full electric and a hybrid car grant-wise, Because I would expect that a Tesla(full electric) would get a bigger grant than a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV.
