Can anybody recommend a particular OBDII adaptor from eBay that works with the Outlander PHEV :?: I don't want to fiddle with any engine settings, just keen to get some knowledge of what is in there, especially the engine firmware/software version as a first priority. I'm an electronics tech, but have not delved into car systems yet :geek:

I guess you want to get a OBD2 adapter that it is compatible with EvBatMon .. and here is a list of adapter proven to be working:
http://evpositive.com/evbatmon-for-phev.html

Personally I did end up buying this: OBDLink LX bluetooth .. since I did find it on Amazon for half of the price reported here. And since is one of the best, if not the best adapter, I did got no problem using it with EvBatMon

I got a bunch of sub 10USD Chinese OBD2 ... all of them work only partially .. and none work with EvBatMon

As elm70 said.

Stay away from those cheap ones.

The two bellow are known to be working perfectly with the PHEV Watchdog app (to be released by the end of the month) and so, should work perfectly with EvBatMon.

I highly recommend Launch Creader 8001 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N36W561which I bought at previous BLACK FRIDAY. Offering unique intelligent design which makes this car scanner an ideal tool for knowledge machinists who work at home or technical professionals for car maintenance, with all the accessories you need to start.

I bought Launch CReader 8011 specially to read ABS codes on my Benz vehicle. I like that it comes with the storage case, USB cable and micro SD card to transfer data. It was amazing when I use it at
the first time. Cleared the ABS code and gave me lots of data about my vehicle with the large and clear display. Moreover, it supports oil and epb reset,I was impressed with the product function.

I don't think this will allow you to read any of the PHEV specific ECU's. Or am I missing something?

Strange suggestions for ODB2 adapters from users who made just 1 post in this forum.

This is "self explaining" per "my book"

Maybe you can try this one called Topdon Elite. Because it supports EVAP system test, you may satisfied with this.
Other functions like read and erase codes , I/M readiness, ABS/SRS warning lights, resets monitors, freeze frame data and so on.
