I have a 4h (2.5yr old) with LED headlights.

When I first owned the car, with headlights on there appeared to be twin lights on either side (when viewing a reflection). The LED low beam was mega bright and very white/cold. The halogen high beam was very orange and a bit pathetic really, although given the LEDs I seldom needed it.

Fast forward to last winter. I had an accident which required the entire front end of the car to be rebuilt - it took 4 months to complete the work. The car looked as good as new when returned with one annoying issue.... The LEDs were equally bright, but more yellow/orange than before - I think - and looking at reflections I only ever seem to have one light on each side on, rather than the twins from before. I could live with that, but I basically get EVERYONE flashing me when driving at night, as the LEDs are clearly dazzling everyone. This isn't just one or two cars, but if I drive past 20 cars in the country, 15 of them will either flash or jam their full beam on!

At my last service I mentioned it to Mitsubishi who said they would check, and just came back and said 'Everythings fine' although frankly I don't believe them as there is a massive difference to the pre-rebuild car.

Is there some instructions for checking the LEDs, including part numbers etc, so I can check myself if the lights have been put back with the right configuration, or is it very much a sealed-box type arrangement? I did look at the manual but didn't see anything obvious, although I'm terrible at looking at manuals.

Cheers

Maybe take it to a local independent garage and ask them to check the beam pattern. Although the HID and LED lights are self levelling, there is still an adjustment screw on the headlight units to set the basic aim.

I've found a useful resource for parts diagrams and part numbers to be www.partsouq.com. If you put in your VIN then it should bring up the diagrams for your car's model, but sometimes if there are various options for that year it might be less clear what part number headlights it left the factory with.

what's the bulb size for your car? site you posted was tricky to use

i got a few really solid sets of LED headlight bulbs and fog light bulbs from http://www.xenonpro.com

not sure if they ship to the uk though youd have to check with them for international shipping

New to the forum, and the PHEV, having picked up my 2017 model just last week. One thing I've noticed at night is the the LED dip beams seem very high on mine too - I've had a few people flashing me. A bit of a dumb question, but does anyone know how the 'self levelling' actually works? Is it mechanically moving the light cluster? Based on the posts above it sounds like I might need to get mine adjusted.

Cheers

The interesting thing is that the vast majority of "flashing" complaints comes from the UK. It must be something in the beam pattern that doesn't match with driving on the wrong side.

I've had my fair share of flashing in my 2014 ZJ, and as far as I am aware the Australian models don't have self leveling headlights. Tends to be when I am on roads descending towards other cars. The LEDs are very bright though, although they do have a clearly defined cutoff.
