Ok folks My New Year's resolution is.

You watching? This is important.

I will not write serial mode it is series mode. I will not write serial mode it is series mode. I will not write cereal (oops  ) serial mode it is series.........

I hope I remember. :?

Anyway all the best for the New year. :)

I think I may have gone over the head of most here with my New Year's resolution. Or it might not annoy people like it bugs me that we write serial instead of series mode.

But I look at it that we are experienced PHEV users and we should know better. Just have a look at how many times people are writing serial mode on this website.

It is a bloody disgrace I tell you.

ps It is probably the engineer in me is why that this bugs me. It is like saying that series mode is a CVT. Oh, do NOT get me started on that. ;)

I'd kill to only have those issues :) I struggle with remembering which is series mode and which is parallel mode.

Is iparallel mode the one that is orange and drives both the wheels and charges the battery?

Oooh so close.

Parallel mode drives the front wheels directly and also powers the electric motors.

There may be some power left over to charge the battery, but I'm guessing not much, it would depend on the specific circumstances.

I think Dan you not being too scared to admit to your lack of knowledge is a great start. I do not mind admitting that I am still learning about this, in what I consider to be a, great vehicle. Is it perfect? Of course not IMO. But what car is.?

Keep asking those questions is my advice. :)

What I do feel sorry for all new members is all the acronyms they have to face when they come here. SOH,SOC,BMU,ACC............ I think we should have a sticky thread to help.
