I have a MY19 Car and sometimes use the phone handsfree via Bluetooth, not connected to Android Auto, just easier sometimes than plugging the phone in.
The problem is it isn't, to call from the phone address book you have to say 'call address book xx mobile' and then it gets repeated back with other options which have to be selected and then do you really want to call xx etc.
The Manual (page 8-54) states you can turn off the Confirmation Prompts in the settings or using Setup by voice command from the phone screen but I cannot find the option, only to change the Bluetooth settings or phone lock.
Maybe the option has been removed but any help would be appreciated.

Oh please let it be true! My process:

Press <call> on the steering
Wait a bit (not to quick!) and press again. I can usually avoid the annoying
"press quick/long message if I time it right.
Say "Call SOMENAME"
Wait
Listen to it say "SOMENAME has been found ... is this correct ... say yes"
I say "Yes"

And, at this point, it either works and all's well. Or I get "The volume was too loud" and I start over. The process really is annoying!
