As a mechanical engineer by origin and a train fan, I know how good an electric hybrid drive train can be.
The test drive was confirmation of my expectations and I'm eagerly looking forward to the ownership.
I tend to keep cars for a long time and was pleased when Mitsubishi Canada offered a 10 - 10 - 10 warranty:
10 yrs or 160,000 km power train warranty, 10 yrs or 160,000 km new vehicle warranty, 10 yrs Roadside assistance.
With all the good stories of trouble free operation, I'm pumped with my choice of new car.
As for my use case. I personally work from home and only use the car for a twice a day commute to the GO (train) Station for my wife's commute (she does not drive) (total for the day 14km)
We camp 4 to 5 times a year with a pop-up trailer (total about 3000 towing km)
I think it will suite us well.

2018 Outlander PHEV SE Touring red with brown interior

First Hybrid car after a Mercedes ML Diesel

Retired mechanical engineer restoring classic Mercedes

Lavaltrie, Québec, Canada.

Like the electric motor torque and the low noise inside. The transition between different power sources being imperceptible. Great engineering!

Do not like the tailgate clearance, at 185 cm I hit my head 50% of the time. Pushing the start button without touching the brake make the car alive, but no radio and no controls on the glasses. I have to make a real start to get the full possibilities. Battery and check engine lights stay on.

This will be my first PHEV, I haven't even test driven it!!! I'm sure it will be fine, have owned lots of 4X4s in the past. Most of my cars have been Diesels, I have driven the Leaf, The BMW i3 and a Mercedes Concept Electric Veto Van for comparison. (the i3 is the only one I took on a long journey)

Looking forward to getting the new car, though April seems like a long time to wait!

Strange? the Mitsubishi site states 3 weeks wait on your spec! usually pretty quick as there are no options and limited colours so they just make a load of each.
