Got the same error this morning. Rang Chargemaster who were very helpful and they had me reboot the charging unit. You just flick the switch off at the consumer unit indoors (should be labelled 'EV') and leave it for 10 minutes. Flick it back on, wait for the lights on the charging unit outside...

This is my first Outlander PHEV, so I can't compare to previous versions of the MMCS but...
