    E85/Ethanol compatibility ??

I've done a fair bit of tuning on turbo cars running E85 (I Live i Sweden and we have one of the most established E85 infrastructures in the world) so I have a bit of experience on the matter. Yes, ethanol blends gives you higher octane rating and a more controllable burn that reduces the risk...

    E85/Ethanol compatibility ??

That is only true if your injectors could inject an infinite amount of fuel. Since an increased amount of ethanol in the fuel requires the engine to inject more fuel to sustain an correct A/f ratio the injectors need to be capable of this. Otherwise a lean situation could occur and cause...

    Rust

The rust warranty on any car is constructed in a way that it's pretty much impossible to claim it. Valid only on frame parts that have been rusted through. Doors, bonnet, trunk lid, etc. is not considered frame parts(since they are not part of the frame). Surface rust isn't covered. Had a...

2016 Outlander keyfob hack. REMOTE HEATER!

Did you double click the button on the remote to start the heater?

    Rust

I'll have to agree with ClasseClas. From the images it seems your car is in desperate need of a proper cleaning. "flygrost" appears on most cars if you don't wash them regularly and will disappear with a good clean, I use Turtle Super Wash and a microfiber sponge to remove tar spots and "flygrost".

    Emergency Boost Battery

Be aware that LiPo batteries are quite flammable under wrong circumstances. If stored fully charged over a long period of time they can swell and burst (if the battery containment breaks it will become a fireball, google "lipo fire" ). I do a bit of RC car racing and we use LiPo batteries. At...

    Advice to a newbie!

The Energy monitor and the EV stuff is fun for abut 5 minutes when the car new, after that you'll never use it.

    Advice to a newbie!

Delivering a car early is a common trick used by car dealers if you are trading in an old car for the new one. That makes the risk of you selling the old car privately less likely. The dealer often gives you a low price on your trade in and you might think for yourself that you'll give it a try...

    Mysterious beeping

Must be some sort of retrofitted hardware. Perhaps parking sensors, tire monitors e.t.c. Can you locate where its coming from? The speakers or some separate buzzer? Also check the fuse box in the lower part of the dash for signs of retrofitted hardware.

Convince me on an Outlander PHEV (or tell me no!)

Ran my first PHEV 40,000 miles and the ICE was as quiet as ever. (Live in Sweden so pretty cold weather)

Convince me on an Outlander PHEV (or tell me no!)

I went from a 260hp Saab Aero to my first PHEV. As much as I appreciated the performance of the Aero I appreciate the relaxed drive in the PHEV. The family is much happier also just floating along in the PHEV. The back seat in the PHEV is nice for the kids since it's high up and visibility is...

Convince me on an Outlander PHEV (or tell me no!)

I'm on my second Outlander PHEV now and I dissagree with onlynik:s answers, here's my version. Premium feel lacks a bit compared with BMW and Merc, the PHEV is OK but not great. Nah, not really. Had my fair share of fast cars (two Supras, Saab Aero e.t.c.). The performance is decent, not...

2016 Outlander keyfob hack. REMOTE HEATER!

I've been using this feature for a while now and it seems to work perfectly. It's the best feature (if you can count it as a feature) of the car!

2016 Outlander keyfob hack. REMOTE HEATER!

Perhaps, the main problem is to get the dealer to connect the new key to your old car. They probably won't do it.
