    Towing - What Mode

I tow over 1400 kg mainly on fairly flat A and B roads. I usually start on battery and let it deplete by at least a quarter before hitting charge. I manage engine use myself by keeping charge on all the time I am driving over about 40mph (orange power glow arrow to drive wheels direct) and try...

Possible new owner - few questions

Hi I had a detachable witter tow bar fitted by pf Jones on my 2014 no problem at all. It has dedicated electrics - can’t remember the total price but as a tight Yorkshire person it can’t have been too bad. H

    Questions about used 2014 model

Don’t know if you can get a Myenergi Zappi charger in Australia but it adapts the charge rate to use your solar export... We had a 2006 Prius. If you like hypermiling in it you are well set to get the best out of an outlander - light foot etc. Also using b0 for gliding is so much easier than...

    EV cruising range

In my experience (5 years 55k miles) I would say if you have gone from weather of say 20-25 degrees c to maybe 5 degrees then that will have a pretty big impact on range. My battery is on 81% health and at 20 degrees I can get up to around 25 miles but below 7 degrees probably max 20 (gentle...

    Dash cam for Outlander PHEV

I have a Nextbase one - they tend to come out top on reviews. You can choose to display speed or not I believe. H

    Evse not working

Thanks Martin We think this is the case as the lights occasionally come on when wiggling that end. I do always support the cable and never dangle it but hey... I’m planning to buy top notch lead and plug and take it back to the repair cafe and hope they can attach it for me. We couldn’t get into...

    Evse not working

After 5 years of regular use I am getting no lights on my granny charger. I'm planning to take it to a repair cafe today - I've tried searching and found a pic of the inside, a warning re a small black cable and that we might need a hair drier to get into it. Can anyone suggest what the fault...

    Charging issue

Was this a cable attached to the chargepoint? I think these are rapids. Maybe the other ev was using the chademo and there was a Ccs available that, as you say, isn’t compatible. You need the chademo lead.

    Shopping for a charging station

Not that I’m aware of - I couldn’t find one 2 years ago when we got our second ev. We now have 2 chargepoints (both under grant) with a physical changeover switch. They are both 32 amp (outlander takes 16 max) and adding the switch was the only way the electrician would install the second one...

    B3-5

My b settings also show this - 1. Reduced action due to age of car 2. Reduced action due to cold temperatures Even with a near empty battery and driving at say 50mph if I chuck it into b5 I can barely get the needle past the h of “charge” even if I apply the brake. I think it was a bit better in...

    Help with pcp

Lots of people charge cars on their drive at night - it is the most common way. I wouldn’t worry. Have you considered a full electric car? Do you need a 4x4? Cheers H

Do low temperatures inhibit parallel mode?

I also got stuck like this the other day - the only time I’ve ever not have the ice switch to direct drive at 45mph +. Car was running for about an hour before it finally gave me the orange arrow. I was towing an empty trailer and presume I’d pressed charge at too high a soc. It was...
