I've had my fair share of flashing in my 2014 ZJ, and as far as I am aware the Australian models don't have self leveling headlights. Tends to be when I am on roads descending towards other cars. The LEDs are very bright though, although they do have a clearly defined cutoff.
Thanks chaps, I will be going to the dealer armed with photos of the charging setup to prove they comply with the manual's instructions. Given there's no exclusion on the warranty it's something they'd have to argue against fairly strongly I feel. Anyway, if they refuse to replace/ repair, I'm...
Anyone had any dramas with the 10A supplied EVSE (Australian member here)? Mine appears to have a loose wire connection on the mains plug side of the unit. The EVSE normally lives hanging from a hook by thin rope on the side of the house, plugged in with the 0.5m cable section under no tension...
No capacity guarantee in Australia. I specifically asked about this, and the reply from Mitsu was as follows:
Please accept our apologies for the delay in our response.
We can confirm the Traction Battery is covered for 5 yrs / 100,000km (whichever occurs first) warranty.
The battery in the...
Before I bought my PHEV I specifically asked the dealer this question (this is in Australia for reference). Their reply was whilst they don't recommend having the PHEV serviced externally, as long as the mechanic was qualified, used genuine parts, and followed the service schedule specified in...
I've had my PHEV for almost 12 months, and the charging flap was always popping open. In the end after much fiddling I just wrapped the metal tab on the flap which grips onto the grey latch with some fabric tape, and bent it slightly towards the latch so as to give it more grip. Voila, it no...
Yes, the car has a trip mpg computer.
The honest answer is I've never owned another AWD SUV so I can't answer that question. My reasons for picking the PHEV were that we needed a larger car for the family than the compact station wagon we had, we wanted an EV to take advantage of solar...
My round trip commute when I drive is around 30 miles, of which 27 would be 50mph or greater speed roads. There also almost 1500ft of climbing in that trip. As long as I am sensible with the right foot, and I have enough battery charge, there isn't any section of road where I can't run EV...
It sounds like the car should suit you pretty well. The 18 mile runs you should be able to do on battery, or mostly battery provided you are gentle with the right foot, although in winter you might find more motor action due to ambient temperature. My regular drive has a 2 mile hill climb at...
Dead easy. You can get replacement lamps off ebay for 20 quid. The chrome surround lamp cover is held in by four plastic clips which are very flexible, just lever them out with something blunt, in my case I used the end of a teaspoon handle. Fog lamp unit is held in by two phillips head screws...
In all honesty, if you can't do the majority of your driving in EV mode then I see little point in getting a Outlander PHEV so I think that would be your first consideration. Otherwise you end up with a very expensive, heavy petrol car, although for it's size it's actually pretty fuel efficient...
