Changing rear springs to stronger ones

I never really meassuerd the car when new and empty. I noticed however after app. 2 years that the rear was noticably lower than the front when empty and whith heavy load the springs bottomed out easily. With the new springs I think the rear may be 1 cm. higher than the front when empty. You...

Motors still driving wheels while stationary?

Hi Maybe you saw my post on fitting Mad-Vertrieb stiffer rear springs? I do agree with Anko that stiffer anti-roll bars are the way to go to stop the unpleasant leaning in sharper curves. I also think that it would benefit from stiffer shocks. My biggest problem was however that, as I...

Winter Tires and rims for 2018 Outlander PHEV SE

Never trust a car dealer. I am running 16 inch rims on my winter tires. Same total diameter though. Car comes standard with 225/55-18 and I run 215/75-16 in winter. Works perfectly.

    Seized rear brake caliper

I mailed Mitsubishi Sweden as my 2016 car is due for service in 5000 km. Answer is they are waiting for a European recall to happen soon, but they do not know when.

    newbie q - does drive-battery charge also charge non-drive b

I did the same thing when replacing rear springs with heavier ones. Had the radio on to listen to music and suddenly after app. 3 hours the sound was erratic and the front windshield wipers were moving very slowly. Tried to start but car was DEAD. Interesting that there is NO ACOUSTIC WARNING...

Changing rear springs to stronger ones

See this link and practice your german:-) https://www.mad-vertrieb.de/niveaufedern2/mitsubishi/outlander/mitsubishi-outlander-phev-baujahr-0713.html Btw I am very happy with the springs (and so is the missus) as the car even unloaded behaves better. With load it is much better than before.

Changing rear springs to stronger ones

I have a 2016 model with 52000 km and have noticed that the rear springs are no longer strong enough. In fact they were in my opinion never strong enough for using an SUV as it should be used, i.e. carrying a lot of gear with you and your family. Under heavy load the car sags enormously. So, off...

Winter/offroad tyres on 16" rims? Anyone tried?

In Sweden it is not mandatory to have TPMS fitted so I will not fail MOT. Sweden, and I believe the other Nordic countries, have wisely decided to not require TPMS on tyres as we legally have to change between winter and summer tyres and the aftermarket TPMS is almost more expensive than the...

Winter/offroad tyres on 16" rims? Anyone tried?

No problem. I am running 215/70/16 wintertyres on my PHEV. You can get rims from any decent onlineshop. Bolt pattern is 5/114,3 and ET 38 but normally you just give them the carmodel and they will give you correct recommendations. Width is determined by tyresize so check this before buying. I am...

    Tyre/ snow chains on PHEV

To answer your question, no I have not used chains on the PHEV. But I have used chains on a lot of other cars, in Sweden and in the Alps, both on roads and in extreme offroad situations (military 6x6 wheel drive trucks and others). Which chains to use is decided by the distance you want to...

Which charging table should I select?

This is how it should look https://chargestorm.se/produkt/typ-1-till-typ-2-rak-kabel-16a-1-fas/ But I'd go with a longer than 4 meter, 7-8 is what you need.

    Before Making the Plunge...

The powesupply to houses in USA is 2-phase 120 Volts to floating ground and 180 degrees between the phases. So wire a socket with the two phases and you get 240 Volts at 60 Hz. In fact when I lived in California one double socket in the kitchen actually had one phase each in the separate...

    B settings in icy conditions

#anko Well I did not think of it that way. But now when you say it I do not agree. It is not electronics vs hydraulics, it is sw brain with hydraulics actuation vs. sw brain with electrical actuation. And comparing hydraulic actuation (engineered to be fast in ABS system) vs electrical actuation...

    B settings in icy conditions

Sorry for being late into this discussion but I thought I add my 2 cents. First, ABS and E-regen (Electricity regeneration using B settings) are to my knowledge 2 totally separate systems. Have nothing to do with eachother. This is my assumption but I may be wrong (I do not think so though)...

    12volt battery?

Like others said it should not be any different than another maintenance free battery. You should get a maintenace free sealed battery as it sits inside the car and not "outside" in the engine compartment. I would take out the existing one and make sure I get one of same dimensions (so it fits)...
