    MY19 vs MY20

MY19 is a 68 & 19 plate. And was first release of the 3rd phase of the PHEV (Sept 2018 release). MY20 is a 69 & 20 plate. There were a few big changes to the interior. (Sept 2019 release). 1) Larger touchscreen. 2) Redesigned heating switches. 3) Eco button and seatbelt warning lights etc...

    HDMI connection

I find it bizarre that the UK L200 (Triton) has HDMI input on the dash, but the Outlander doesn’t! I guess you could always source the L200 HDMI input button and use in the Outlander (same design buttons).

    Irritating brake noise

I have had this problem since new and repaired twice under warranty. The brake pad retaining clips basically are weak and snap. This allows slight movement of the pads hence the clunk noise. Not dangerous, just annoying. Mitsubishi Japan are fully aware and they do FOC under warranty. It’s a...

    Disable FCM?

Don't think you can turn it off permantely - your Insurance Group is lower based on this system. You can change from 'near' to 'far' on settings - 'far' may help you. Change your driving style a little too - if you brake, it knows you have seen the obstacle. Sometimes it just takes time to...

    Vibration - Roof Rails ?

Will try this - I to have the same issue. Been thinking it was my roof bars, but must not be. The area mentioned seems about the right place too. Got to be said - poor development process for this to go unmissed.

    Anyone going for another one?!

I'm the same - 3 year lease up in Nov, so need to order probably in September. My options are another 4HS, Double-Cab pick up, or Passatt GTE Estate. I like the Passatt, but the Mrs doesn't. The pick-up is less refined, but still ticks the BIK box. Another 4HS is looking likely (2019...

    Anyone going for another one?!

It looks to me like its a 3-mode button. I think it'll switch between Sport, Snow & 4WD Lock. The EV Button remains further back behind it

    2018/2019 Outlander

You may have read an old article from last year, which was on about the all-new one, not the face-lift one due this autumn. The all-new one is pencilled in for 20/21, but yes, it was postponed a little due to Ren/Nis deal. It will still go ahead, but like you say, they are looking at chassis...

    New 2018 Outlander 4H owner - a few questions

Traditionally, hands free kits only provided sound through the opposite side to the driver - this was to cut back on feedback through the on-board microphone. As technology advanced, manufacturers were able to provide sound through all speakers by having a higher quality microphone that was...

Did Mitsu blunder by not putting 16Kwh battery in US version

Different engine and battery models don't cost anywhere near the additional retail prices given. An Mercedes Benz E200d & E220d is the same engine, but different engine mapping. Same MPG and CO2 levels too, but the E220 is £2-3k dearer. Same applies to engines from Jaguar, BMW and even Ford...

Did Mitsu blunder by not putting 16Kwh battery in US version

It wouldn’t be every 10 years - I’d say between 12-16 years. But I understand your point. My point is it wouldn’t be any different to a combustion engined vehicle. I get rid of cars and swap to keep value in them but also before the big problems start - 100k Miles + are when they do. You say...

Did Mitsu blunder by not putting 16Kwh battery in US version

Firstly, you're jumping the gun - you're saying half the fleet already. I'm saying on current levels and perhaps levels over the next 5 years. Half the UK fleet in 5 years still won't be full Hybrid or EV. So 2 to 5 centres will be fine, as the cost to train and kit them out will be high - 5...

Did Mitsu blunder by not putting 16Kwh battery in US version

I personally think we'll eventually see specialist centres dedicated to EV/PHEV battery renewal and maintenance to deal with out of warranty work. It'll become the 'norm' to book in a car in the morning, and return later in the day with a brand new battery pack fitted, for a reasonable price...

First test of 19,5 kWh battery in PHEV

True - Mitsubishi have increased the 2019 battery capacity, but not as much as this though. I presume the 2019 is a token gesture and a bit of a test mule for the all-new 2020/2021 vehicle - so didn't want to invest too much into it.

First test of 19,5 kWh battery in PHEV

Probably worth pointing out that drive batteries are always fitted central, not only for weight distribution, but also to mitigate any serious damage from a rear-end shunt. To my knowledge, most LI-ION batteries are placed centrally - the Passat GTE for example, the fuel tank is put under the...
