Battery range dropped suddenly (phev, 2016 model)

Hi Tweedie, I have a 2014 version with 40700 miles. Used sensibly for 9 years with no problems. Suddenly I only have 13 miles displayed after an overnight charge and at full charge. But it will only take me about 7 miles. Mitsubishi dealer in Nottingham quoted me just short of £9000 for new...

    Central Console

I keep my ipod in there, constantly connected, out of sight and ready to use.

    Camping- Please help ?.

If your towing socket is wired up correctly, you will get a constant 12v output even when the car is switched off. I use mine all the time to illuminate my trailer whilst loading/unloading. You are limited to about 110 watts consumption I think. ( without looking at the manual again) It should...

How many kWhr for a full charge?

Sorry - I forgot to mention that I was comparing it to the cost of running my previous car which was a Kia Sedona 2.9TD manual at £1.20 ish per litre.

How many kWhr for a full charge?

If you are paying 12p +5% VAT per unit of electricity at home, your running costs are equivalent to 25p a litre of diesel if you get 27 -28 miles per charge. The Outlander is ideal for daily, low mileage running. It copes with my large trailer, but runs the battery down a lot quicker than...

    tyre pressure and dsh warning

Done 10K, had no problems. Look at the plate fixed on the drivers door pillar. It shows the recommended pressures. Mine are at 38psi .

    Budget 2015

I hadn't seen any of the budget details until now. Having had a company car all my working life and driving in excess of 50k a year I never had to worry about RED. BUT, as far as my own vehicles are concerned, they sometimes stay on my drive 3 or 4 days a week. They only use the roads 3 or 4 days...

    Fast charging

Hi neverfuel, I'm still convinced it's a software problem. Being in the electronics business for over 40 years, I can only guess that the connecters/cable have the power conductors ( -ve & +ve ) and other connector/s to communicate between car and charger. Granted, if there is a 'bad'...

    First time out

Last night I did a 90mile round trip. Outward journey in day light with sun roof open.Return journey in darkness obviously with lights on and radio playing. There were four adults in the car and a load of gear in the back and I was towing our trailer which is over a ton gross. I didn't hang...

    History of power

KWh means KiloWattHour, therefore 6KWh means 6KiloWatts used (or produced) in one hour (6,000 Watts per hour). 1000Watts is 1KW. Think in terms of a light bulb. A 100watt light bulb would have to be on for 10 hours to consume 1KWh of electricity ( 100Watts x 10 = 1000 which is a KiloWatt ) . A...

    Fast charging

Well done! Why didn't I think of that? Did you see the short article on BBC's Look North tonight? Apparently there are fewer EVs in Lincolnshire than elsewhere in the UK and sales in the area have fallen. They put it down to lack of public charge points and high cost of using the available points.

    Fast charging

Thanks for that info Haydrive. It would indicate that a software update is required from Mitsubishi. If the operating system of the car is so vulnerable to accidental misuse or even 'tampering', surely a complete shut down is not the answer. Maybe Mitsubishi should let us in on the...

    Fast charging

I wondered if the 148mpg includes some external recharging. The car is less costly on local/short runs using petrol and home charging but my last car,a Kia Sedona 2.9 turbo diesel was well ahead on long fast runs. Perhaps I've not got to the top level in this EV game yet. Of course there's the...

    Fast charging

Hi,I've just had my GX4H a month and as yet not used a public charge point. I did my 1st long trip at the weekend (388miles). I have a ecotricity card but am nervous about using it. I read somewhere that the Outlander has issues when fast charging. I 'phoned my dealer who told me the problem is...

    Mechanical problem

Have you tried suggesting your dealer takes parts from a new stock car? I don't think he would like the delay!
