My summer car is a little 4.0 TVR Chimaera ( http://www.wastedspace.co.uk/cms/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/13694244380400.jpg ) Actually quite frugal in 5th at 60 - probably around 30-35mpg. In reality I get around 200 miles to the tank which is about 20MPG. Great car, not giving it up just yet!

TPMS uses the ABS sensors to determine individual wheels' rotational nuances - so it can detect when a tyre is going flat due to it's rotational characteristics. It works best at higher speeds and is designed as a warning before you flop to the rim... As such the system doesn't actually know...
