    Water ingress

Has anyone had a problem with water ingress with their phev? The front passenger side carpets are sodden and starting to smell. I had a windscreen replacement a couple of months ago and I suspect it's not sealed properly but I'm not sure. I will try to get auto windscreens back to it. I just...

    Service warning messages

Morning, Yesterday as I was driving on a short journey, my 15 plate gx3 displayed a warning on the dash (RBS service), then immediately gave another warning (EV service). It scrolled through 3 or 4 warnings with no loss of power. It is bank holiday weekend so there won't be a lot I can do now...

    heating cost

As we move towards winter and mornings are getting chillier....can anyone tell me approximately it will cost to run the heater in the car. I normally get to and from work on battery only, but will need some heat before long. I'm interested to know how much fuel is being burned when the engine is...

    Charging or petrol?

Every week, I take my son to his football training. The journey is outside of the range of a full charge. I tend to get to training with about 25% left. I then sit for an hour before driving back. My question is - is it more economical to leave the car switched on, charging the battery until I...

Travelling to France - Cable rental?

I have just returned from a month in Spain. I used a British extension cable with an adaptor as described above to charge up each day. I did find that one adapter did seem to overheat and appear a little 'burnt' around one of the pins after a while. I swapped adapters and the replacement was...

Best method for economy on long road trip

Ok - I started this thread to ask about fuel economy. I have just made my first unplugged drive. The car is stuffed to the gunnels with heavy stuff (including teenagers and adults). I made it from Hull to Folkestone with an average of 43 mpg. I was pleasantly surprised by this and hope it...

    12v devices on roadtrip

Thanks for the reply. I would be using it whilst on motorway - once we get to hotel we have 240 v adapter for it so it would not ever be used whilst stationary and I envisage that 90 percent of the journey it will not be on EV as I won't be hooking up on the way. On that basis will it be 'safe'...

    12v devices on roadtrip

Hi - I am taking my PHEV to Spain on a long haul road trip. My question is around 12v devices. Please can I say before I start that I have no technical knowledge so if possible , I would prefer a yes or no answer...... Normally on a trip such as this , I would use 1, Satnav 2, DVD player...

Best method for economy on long road trip

Hi - I have a 2015 GX3. I am travelling to Spain from the UK (approx 2k miles round trip) in a few weeks. I am trying to work out the best method of driving to get the best mpg I can. I will be using motorways for the vast majority of the time but will not be able to charge up at all until I...
