    I found this excellent site explaining how the transsmission in our PHEV's work. It is actually a lot more alike Koenigseggs KDD than any CVT. I think we should not use the CVT name anymore. Ever :) https://www.gkn.com/en/our-technology/2016/multimode/

    Can't send PM

    Hi I've tried to send PM's to a couple of members (one admin) but as soon as I hit "Submit" after composing a PM it ends up in my PM outbox and there it stops. A couple of these mebers I have sent PM's to in the past. Can someone help me? I tried to send a PM to myslef and that worked. //Jocke

    couple of days late but here is the result. The MOT station "Opus" had a small booklet that said to set the "2wd/4wd" switch between the seats to "2wd". Also the traction control needed to be turned off. -do you have a switch like that? He asked -no, just a "forced 4wd" switch, I said. But...

    I'm about to take my car to it's first MOT. Emissions should be no problem since they can read fault codes via OBD. Correct? I don't want them to try to start the engine and getting it warm at the station... Brakes. Can anything get damaged if they do the normal brake tests?

    Got a recall from the swedish dealer stating I must get the car to a garage to get the ECU and plugs swapped. Anyone heard what the cause is? What will change?

    That was my initial idea. To let the car know it is not allowed to even try to start the car. If it can be done by the VTech box it could just as easily let the ICE start when hitting the "kick down button". No switches or pots, just a nice clean CAN message that says we have fuel or not...

    Good point about the potential lack of power. That rules out just pulling the fuse. It would need a switch in the cabin. One way is to mount the switch really convenient, perhaps on the steering wheel even, so that you can easily allow the ICE to start. The other, much more appealing, is the CAN...

    That way sounds a bit crude. I was thinking about a "softer" way :) But if it will give a really good result and no bad side effects I would be willing to try it. What does "low-fuel emergency mode" mean? A switch that cuts the power to the pump mounted in the cabin could do the trick.

    Hi all. First post on here as a short time lurker with a PHEV, hopefully, in the driveway in a couple of months. I'll be buying my brothers company car when his lease runs out in May (if the price turns out to be right). I think Steepndeep's idea might be a good approach to this problem...
