    Yes, it does change it. If you press Charge then the battery gauge will increase over time. If you don't, it won't. That is an additional load on the engine which must be satisfied by burning additional fuel. Steve

    I got to drive these but the Phev is more practical IMO.

    Shame about the demise of Holden muscle cars. If I were in your shoes I'd be tempted to buy the Holden and use it. If you store it for your sons or an an investment you run the risk of such big engines being banned by then! The Kia looks great but the Holden is a true Aussie working class...

I can't help with the high mileage related questions but I will say with the pre-2017 cars it can be frustratingly hard to drive entirely on battery for short trips in cold weather - even in a car with electric heating. The car will often start the engine to warm up the cabin quickly...
