Auxiliary battery drain when parked causing EV system Fault

This is one of the faults we have on 2 of the 3 vehicles we have here. Was reported to the selling dealership at the 1st service last year, but they didn't do anything with it. Trying again with a different dealership now the second services are booked, but they are trying to pass the buck...

    Broken MMCS

Got one here that regularly freezes when driving. Nothing unfreezes it except power cycling the vehicle, i.e. stop, power to off, power back on again and it works. Was reported to selling dealer at 1st service, but they didn't want to look at it. Reported to a different dealer in readiness...

    Check your timer settings regularly.

Might depend if you have all the icons on the MMCS screen. We have 3 vehicles, all delivered the same day, and having sequential number plates. 1 of them is missing the "timed charge" icon on the MMCS (as well as some other icons) so on that one, you cannot set, or check timed charge from the...

    Drive battery degradation and replacement.

OK, tried this. Booked all 3 in for the 2 year service the week after the next at a different dealership, and have sent them the list of faults in advance so they can be ready to deal with them. They have come back saying that as the faults were present when the vehicles were new, then it must...

    Disable keyless entry ?

A similar concern here, now that one of ours is equipped with a roof tent. Had visions of someone driving it off in the middle of the night whilst someone was still in bed up top, after seeing that even with the keys in the tent, the doors could be unlocked using the buttons on the doors...

    Heated seat question

Same here with 3 of the 4Work commercials. They behave the same in both low and high switch positions (green and orange LED's). Doesn't seem related to engine running - They just seem to cycle between hotter and not so hot.

    Modding the PHEV

Willdo, once the back end of it has been tidied up! Not much to see at the moment apart from heaps of work gear!

    Super Unleaded ?

Surely 95 RON is "regular" unleaded, whilst "super unleaded" is 98 RON or greater? Apologies if I have misinterpreted this, and its different in different countries. I would read the label on the fuel flap you describe as "95 or higher", and whilst 98 is certainly higher, its probably just...

How to best protect your drive battery.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of the OP, and in particular the second last sentence of the top post in this thread..... Thats what we have in an email. I can only take it as it is presented. Has it made any difference to the rate of degradation as reported through the OBDII port? No...

How to best protect your drive battery.

As advised to us by Mitsubishi, via the dealer, in response to our question about how to slow the rate of degradation; Always run the battery down to "empty" before recharging Always charge to completely full Never partially charge See if that helps I have it on an email from them somewhere.

    B0, B1, ... , or B5

Just actually been trying this on one of the 2017MY's. According to the regen power "dial" on the dash, there is no difference in the amount of regen power absorbed whilst footbraking on B0 or footbraking on B5. Both flip it up to about 30 kW. We have some fairly hilly country up here in...

    Polaris Ranger EV

A carry forward from another thread, given its wandering off topic..... Same taxation class on its V5 as a Nissan Leaf, or other car type EV, etc - Check 4 wheels, 1 on each corner - Check Disc drakes, 1 on each wheel hub - Check Registered / insured for the road - Check Needs a category B...

Motors still driving wheels while stationary?

Hi Greendwarf, Yes, that would very much be the case for when stopped - Neutral and Handbrake on. Where it works less well is when trying to creep slower than the surrounding traffic will permit, though that is perhaps a slightly different scenario from the thread title. In that scenario, the...

Is a charge point necessary/worth it?

With 3 x PHEV's at work, we have not had the need for any fancy chargers. When we got them, we simply put 2 x double waterproof sockets on the wall, then plug the supplied chargers in there. A hole drilled and a padlock fitted to each socket means the chargers cannot be nicked, nor any...

    charge problems

Our local council used to have charging stations with 13 and 32 amp sockets. But the 13 amp ones were taken away on the diktat of Transport Scotland. :(

Motors still driving wheels while stationary?

I note a very similar discussion thread on another forum where the pro's and cons of creeping are discussed. Unlike this forum, they seem to be able to discuss the pros and cons without descending into making it personal. Its obviously a very "Marmite" issue, with a perceived 50/50 split of...

Motors still driving wheels while stationary?

Whoops, my mistake, sorry - I thought this was the Technical Discussion section of a discussion forum where things technical were discussed.

    Drive battery degradation and replacement.

Interestingly, our vehicles are the near opposite of the above. They are only ever charged on the standard 10A EVSE's that came with them, and have only ever been charged on DC about twice - The local ferry terminal used to have a DC charger and a card you could borrow to make it work. But...

    Drive battery degradation and replacement.

Yes actually. Comapring like for like - weather conditions, temperature, heater off, lights off, wipers off, same route, same cruise control speed setting - the range before engine start up is now reduced from new. Thats actual diustance covered over the road, not the dash "guessometer"...

Motors still driving wheels while stationary?

Sorry Trex if it comes across as "trollish" - Not the intention. As I mentioned somewhere else, we also have a Polaris Ranger EV. It doesn't creep at all when forward or reverse is engaged, and its much easier to drive slowly or stop start. It needs (and this is not just opinion....) just the...
