Vic Young South Shields - Service

Mine has just been to GMD for its first service. No complaints really, however, I was a little disappointed that it came back with a tyre pressure warning and it didn't get a wash. Also, they wrote the wrong mileage on the service paperwork so it appears to have done 2000 miles more than it...

Charging a UK car in France

That's certainly a point worth noting. Thanks.

Charging a UK car in France

What's the consensus on charging a UK car, with a UK EVSE 3-pin, plugged into a French wall socket with a simple UK-France adapter plug? Is there any danger of damage to the car or the outlet that it's plugged in to, or is this simply a big no no? Many thanks in advance

    Boot beeping but not opening/closing

Got me every time for months that did, until I realised you can set it to open everything when you switch the car off.

Small square of green tape above my head...what is it for?

So if you roll the car you know what way is up?

    Switching off AVAS

That's probably the best way to describe it. It's how I would imagine a flying saucer would sound.

    Switching off AVAS

Because it's the most irritating and annoying noise that's ever been invented in the history of noises. More annoying than a Professor at Annoysville Univeresity who has just been promoted to the head of the Annoying Noise Department and who has invented a new annoying noise to celebrate...

Seems we're getting a bad rep.

What would happen on a rapid charger if you hit the emergency stop button? Presumably it would just shut down and stop charging the car it was attached to?

Seems we're getting a bad rep.

    Good point well made. :D

Seems we're getting a bad rep.

I agree with that. I think what's a little unfair is that any BEV/PHEV can block a charger and not just an Outlander. It's surely the driver's attitude rather than car they drive?

Seems we're getting a bad rep.

Ecotricity recently singled out Outlander drivers on Twitter. This little piece also popped up earlier: https://transportevolved.com/2015/02/03/plug-cars-hit-roads-inconsiderate-use-public-charging-provision-rise/ A tad prejudice?

What does this beeping button do?

On the 4h the button to the right of the boot is to turn off the Pedestrian Alert System. Is this different on the 3h?

    Mistubishi Charging Cable

Hi Barrie If you mean the type 1 to type 2 charge cable, the kind for public charge posts, then make sure the extra you pay over the term isn't over circa. £150 as that's what a good quality one set you back. The price to buy the Mitsubishi cable outright, as I recall, was about double that...

    Clutch burn type of smell?

What he says. Try sticking it in charge mode if you really want to make it stink.

    Mitsubishi dealerships closed down

Aye, that's the one. I'll need to go to Boro for a service.

    Mitsubishi dealerships closed down

My local dealer is discontinuing his Mitsubishi franchise. I was made aware of this when I got the car though and I was given the details of the next nearest dealer for servicing.

The showoff thread - post your Outlander here!

I know how you feel. My last daily hack was grey and although I wanted a change I thought the Outlander really suited the grey. It was going to be a 3 month wait for a grey one or a 3 week wait for a blue one, so I went with the blue. I don't regret it though. It never looks that dirty even...

Excellent lease contract through NHS Fleet Solutions.

Nice one! That's a good result on delivery. The shape of the car really suits the grey IMO. Get some pics up when it arrives.

High ICE revs / engine strained!

I was very surprised by the high revs of the ICE when the charge is gone, especially when pulling away from a standstill. I don't think it's straining but it is revving much more than a standard car and it does sound like a slipped clutch. I think it's probably that we're not used to an engine...
