    Music player / MP3 / MMCS questions

2000 miles up today atlantic grey PHEV Stereo sounds great big improvement on the last Outlander. Have put 11gb of music on an SD card and had some confusion with it. 1. It doesn't play lossless m4a files but it reads the files and shows the artist etc.. Then just skips the file to the next...

Is it just me or is the gear selection back to front?

I would hazard a guess that it's because if you pull it back into drive then floor it, the weight of your hand will pull it further back into drive rather than pull it out of drive which it would have a tendency to do if the drive stick direction was forward. But maybe I'm the only one flooring...

    Save language as English?

Every toe I start the car and sat nav it asks me what language and I have to click English, wait a few seconds, then click the OK or set button..can't remember which. Does anyone know how to set it to one language so it doesn't have to be set every time? Minor annoyance otherwise great car...

Is the beep it makes a speed warning?

My GX4H makes a chime/beep sound when I turn off a motorway or fast A road onto a slip road and slow down which suggests it's something to do with the change of speed zones. Does anyone else know what this is and how to control it? Not a major issue just seems like an undocumented feature but...

What Have You Done To Your PHEV Today?

I took delivery of my Atlantic Grey PHEV gh4h on Friday and am hugely pleased with it. On Monday I unscrewed the top of a new bottle of sparkling water before I drove off so that I could drink and drive safely (water) without having to unscrew the bottle top on the road, but I forgot about it...

Is overnight charging cheaper? If not, why the timer?

Thanks for the reply. What is confusing is that the charge point engineers seem to have in it their heads that the charging point "can't be fitted to your economy 7" because the charge point needs power all the time to send signals back via an O2 signal. What they actually mean is that they...

Is overnight charging cheaper? If not, why the timer?

Hi, just got my Outlander PHEV gx4h in Atlantic grey. Had a standard 16 amp charging point fitted by chargemaster and have started charging the car whenever it needs the juice. What I don't get is that since both the British Gas and Chargemaster polar charging points require a phone signal and...

    Economy 7

BG engineer pointed out to me that Economy 7 could not be used because the O2 phone signal would be dropping out and wherever it sends a signal would think the charger was continually up and done, therefore Ec 7 is not an option.

    Free home charging point

BG came out to me yesterday with a "surprise!" lengthy form that said it wasn't free any more so hang on to your application confirmation email that says Free. They said I should just cross out the bit where it says I will pay 25% of the £1500 installation cost and several other places where it...
