Re: Understanding battery capacity based on SOC and voltage

I'm pretty sure that is the 12V battery, not your 360V drive battery.

I've noticed a 'battery health' statement when I get mine serviced, but it is not relating to the drive battery.
(I've asked them)

Re: Jump starting another car

The short answer is that you cannot.

The PHEV 12 volt battery is tiny, and cannot deliver enough current to start a car.

Other members of this forum have bought portable lithium batteries so that they can still jump-start other people's cars.

Re: cant start _ Mitsubishi cant find any fault

If the dashboard was displaying anything, the vehicle was on. Is it possible that you put the car into 'Accessory' mode? This is done by pressing the Start button without putting your foot on the brake pedal. You get out of that mode by putting your foot on the brake pedal and pressing the start but...

Re: Factory charger fault

Damaged wires at the point where the cable enters the charger box has been discussed here. Mitsubishi recommend that the charger is suspended via the provided string, rather than allowing it to be hung from the power cable. Others have reported that it is difficult to get this fixed under warranty a...

Re: Battery only 20km

We may need to make a sticky topic on this one. Range is affected by: 1. Temperature (battery doesn't work as well when cold) 2. How much load the car is hauling (roof boxes and trailers make a big difference) 3. How the car is driven (drive like a boy-racer and the range plummets, similarly speeds ...

Re: new owner phev

Are you saying that you have lock nuts on the wheels?

But don't have the key/socket?

Your first step is to contact the seller of the car.

If that fails you'll need to find someone who sells the specific type of lock nut, and find out which key/socket is required.

Re: MMCS map card error

First question:

Have you checked to make sure that the SD card is not in the map slot?

(Assuming you haven't removed it and discarded it.)

Next, you can buy these cards online or download the data and build your own.

Re: Real-world tests of hybrid cars show higher-than-expected emissions

People who don't charge their cars, use more petrol.

I guess I'm on the opposite end of that spectrum.

Re: Did Mitsu confuse "Save" Mode and "Charge" Mode Above 78 mph (125 km/h)?

There's a few different things muddled together here. 1. IIRC Fast charging is limited to 80% to protect your battery. You can overcome this by unplugging and then starting the charge a second time. (But it will damage your battery if you do this) 2. I can't think of any circumstances that would cau...

Re: 2018 Canadian PHEV wont run in ev.

Just a minor note. 3,000 RPM doesn't sound like 'roaring' to me. I've had a car that idled at 2000 RPM. And my last car before the PHEV used to redline at 7,000. Others have commented before that some drivers are stressing about engine noise which is actually quite mild, it's only the comparison wit...
