Re: Any queries or suggestions of Mitsubishi Japan's enginee

I applaud your efforts Trex! For those of us with older PHEVs a great software update would be an EV-only mode option (e.g. via re-programming the Eco botton or an option in the MMCS). It's nuts that the ICE starts just to provide cabin heat. I can just shut off the climate system to avoid engaging...

Re: Socket or tethered charger?

Thanks for the comments. I should have said that I don't see any merit in charging at a public charge point, so I only need a cable at home. If you're in the UK, especially England, then as long as you live or work pretty near to a public charge point, it can be very economical. I drive less than o...

Re: Average MPG display resetting automatically

Help. I've had my PHEV for just over a week and am loving it so far. One thing I can work out though is how to display an average MPG over say, a tankful of petrol over a few days. Every time I start the car, the MPG seems to have reset to 0. I'm sure it's a setting I haven't found yet, but can any...

Re: Best EV Estimate and what was you doing to get it ..?

No, this was actually after I got home and charged up to full. The computer keeps track of the average mi/kWh and uses that value to extrapolate into an estimated range. I remember seeing values over 5 mi/kWh on the meter after getting home and I charged the battery all the way just to see what est...

Very good! Did you charge up at the top?

Re: Best EV Estimate and what was you doing to get it ..?

Just revisiting this thread to report that I got my first ever real 32 miles range performances over an average of level ground last summer - when the temperatures in England were up towards 30 degrees and there was no wind. It seems a far cry from that now in January - lucky to get 25 miles, and th...

Chargemaster/PolarPlus 3-pin public charging points

A puzzle. I do most of my charging a mile from home in what turns out to be the first EV charging point in Shropshire. That one uses a Type 2 plug. I quite often have to go to Shrewsbury, where I can charge up at ASDA. ASDA has four parking spaces for two charging points, both of which have two sock...

Re: Tire pressure

The TPMS sensors aren't that clever, just a sort of on/off switch that operates when the pressure drops below a certain point (don't know what that point is). They definitely work though as I recently found out (see 'unequal tread depths' post). Maybe more sophisticated systems actually display pre...

Re: Best EV Estimate and what was you doing to get it ..?

36 miles is my best EV estimate. which usually drops to about 8 or 9 after the 14 mile drive home after (occasional) work, as there's a gradual climb of about 400 feet.. My best EV range has been 30 so far - on a few of those nice warm summer days. If I'm working on a day like that, I can get to and...
