Re: Can you run the air conditioner without running the engine?

Bear in mind you will need the car in Ready mode though so the dash will be lit up etc, any running lights will be on.

If you want to do it without any of that, the only way is with the timer and that has a limitation of 30 minutes.

Re: Retrofit of 1500W AC inverter possible?

I would assume it's just a 12V inverter connected closely to the Aux battery to keep the high current cable runs short. From what he's saying, it seems that the DC/DC converter from Drive battery to Aux battery is able to 'keep up' with the inverter power requirement, so as long as you have fuel and...

Re: How empty can it go?

- After the car consumes all battery power down to 1 bar, it will then drive an additional 30-40 miles or so before it refuses to use the ICE. That's further than it will go on the battery from 'full' to 'empty'! :o Surely a typo? Not a typo. After it drains the battery and decides to use the ICE a...

Wind chill doesn't affect inanimate objects with no water to evaporate
Except when the object is wet. The increased evaporation will chill below ambient temperature.
I've highlighted the key to my statement for you. Perhaps you missed it first time?

Re: Did Mitsu confuse "Save" Mode and "Charge" Mode Above 78 mph (125 km/h)?

Seems normal to me. There's only so much power available from the ICE, and if you are using a large proportion of it to go so fast, how do you expect to get much charge out of it?

Re: 12V motorcycle lithium battery to replace aux battery?

Sounds great, but pricey. If you value those features, let us know how you get on.

It's a lot cheaper to have a $50 USB chargeable jump pack, and useful for phone charging etc too.

But it will dissipate any heat build up in the battery that might increase the range
It will, but that is not wind chill, just forced air cooling. In your example of 2 degree C ambient, no amount of wind can reduce the battery temperature below that. It can only make it approach that.

- and "wind chill" when driving is unlikely to help. It is the battery temperature that defines range not ambient.

So if air temp is 2/3, as above, the battery is likely to be still below freezing.

Re: Charging indicator light.

It sounds very much like there is a timer set from a previous owner, for example to take advantage of cheap night rate electricity. You need to look into it via the screen (or App, but that's a whole other world of pain). There is a way to override the timer, and that is a quick double press of the ...
