Re: How can I keep the charge cable from being locked on as 2023?

Does the Handbook say anything about it? If not, I guess you can't and you'd have to make a modification to do so, e.g. take the wires of the locking solenoid.

Re: The EV button

Whether or not the Eco button reduces the Air Conditioning power is selectable in the vehicle setup. The only thing it really does is remap the accelerator pedal to make it easier to stay within the Eco zone of power delivery, i.e. it gives you a longer travel for the same power output so it's easie...

Re: Portable level 2 charger

I was wondering what is meant by a portable one. I don't get it. You would carry around another battery to charge your battery?

Re: Driving Abroad

I've used my RHD many times in Europe and never fitted deflectors and never had anyone coming the other way flash to indicate that my lights are a problem to them. I wouldn't worry about it. Maybe have a set of stick on ones in the glovebox (along with your spare bulbs, hi vis vests etc) in case the...

Re: running the oulander phev without the battery

Yes. There is no 12V starter motor as the current draw would be too much for the small Aux battery and DC/DC converter. The engine starts with the generator in reverse.

Re: Exhaust

Any photos of the break and the subsequent repair please Lez?

It's pretty poor not to have a stainless steel system from the factory as it should be obvious that the exhaust from an engine that often only runs for a short time will have a lot of condensation and therefore corrosion.

Re: Which EV Charger to get

For the modest battery size of a PHEV, and especially the low charge rate of the Outlander, I'd seriously consider if any fancy charger (EVSE actually, the charger is in the car) or EV tariff is worthwhile. With the EVSE, any extra features that you pay for are unlikely to offer much benefit, except...

Re: Outlander Phev In-Depth Observations - Mike Mas

okay thanks. Leaving aside efficiency.. are you saying that Charge is only available above 65 km ?.. and the engine will only run when above 65 km ? Or if the engine can be set to run at lower speed and stationary what would be the charging rate when set to Charge ? No, they're not saying that at a...
