Re: USA 2020-PHEV - RBS Service - EV Failure

Sounds like they're both incompetent and dishonest - everything you sadly expect of a dealer. I wish you good luck in a resolution but don't have much advice. I guess I would advise leaving the vehicle with them and getting a full refund from them if at possible using whatever consumer protection th...

Re: Ran out of gas but depleted battery got me home

Doesn't this whole electricity discussion depend on just how the electricity you are using to charge you car comes from and the cost of the grid which delivers it? I've read that the current grid is not capable of transmitting the amount of juice that would be needed if every car, magically, became...

Without sufficient charge to effect a standing start it could leave drivers in awkward situations.
The amount of energy available (charge) does not change the standing start which simply requires power for a short time. More charge does not make more power available, only for a longer time.

I heard a rumour that the recent upgrade from 12 to 13.2 was not really a battery hardware change. They just altered the software to allow you to use a bit more.
You heard a rumour, or you're starting a rumour? :D

Because that should be the only continuous drain on it that it needs to recharge for over a reasonable period of time.

Re: Ran out of gas but depleted battery got me home

Using hydrogen as an intermediate fuel requires twice the generation capacity that simply using batteries requires. That is the fact that you seem to be ignoring. Who is going to pay for double the extra generation capacity just so that people can use hydrogen instead of batteries? The extra cost i...

Re: Ran out of gas but depleted battery got me home

History is littered with businesses that "get it wrong" - I repeat, Betamax. This was a technically better product but that didn't help it survive. :ugeek: Absolutely It will be interesting watching "global corporations" defying the laws of physics  You say it's a "personal view", but it's ju...

Re: Micro Battery Jump Starter?

Yes, absolutely suitable. But even after 'jumping' it and making it boot, if the Aux battery has been flat you will still have a whole host of faults shown. You'll have to wait until the Aux battery has been charged by the DC/DC before restarting it and clearing the faults, but that may not happen i...

Re: Low 12v Battery on New Car

as the 12V battery takes its power from the the main battery, so driving or not driving it is completely irrelevant. Not in all cases. Those models without the Wifi module will not charge daily if not driven (or at least put into Ready mode) and even those with the Wifi module will not do it if the...
