Re: Granny cable plug check

If it is just warm, it is probably OK. If it starts to get hot that's an issue. If it is uconfortable to hold on to then it needs to be changed.

Charge flap actuator repair

I know there have been other threads on the charge flap actuator failing, but none on a cure. Mine failed shortly after I purchased the 2016 MY GX4H. The "lid" of the gearbox had become partially detached anf the worm gear had fallen out. Fortunatly the gear was still sitting just below the actuator...

Re: Bird's eye view on GX4H

I think this came in with the 2016 facelift. My 65 plate (UK) GX4H is a 2016 model year and has it. It is very useful. The only thing I'd change is to leave the 360 view on for a bit after to changing to forward gear so you have it for thet last bit of parking without pressing the button on the wheel.

Re: Charger repair video -cable replacement

Yes, I did say that only the UK uses fused plugs. I do note that some chargers e.g. BMW spec have a temperature sensor in the plug so heating due to a bad connection can be detected. Obviosly these cannot be replaced with a standard plug.

Re: Charger repair video -cable replacement

Found this after I had repaired the same failure. Older post I know, but I have a couple of comments. First you should NOT use silicone grease on the cble to make it easier to slide the cable clamp on. It will always be slippey and will stop the cable clamp working. If you need a lubricant use isopr...
