Re: New Phev specs released it seems

Hi again fellow Phevers, It's 3.41am on a Friday morning here down under. Yes I am from your future. You can call me Future Man. ;) But seriously, I am off work soon but I won't bore you with the details. But will try to reply to any queries if I can later. But before I go I definitely wanted ...

Re: New Phev specs released it seems

Now I will say this as person that has had a PHEV since they were released here (one of the first in Australia) which I still own (as well as a 2019 model) it's good to see Mitsi is upgrading the overall package. Mitsi are still number 1 (edit a brand from China may now be no 1) in Phev sales I thin...

I assume from the name that Chelsealady30 is a "she"

Mine cuts the ICE once the battery is mostly full - isn't it 80%?

Around 86% or 14 out of 16 bars on the MMCS from memory.

Re: New Phev specs released it seems

"The Outlander PHEV has gained a third row of seats for the first time, which aligns it in seating capacity with the regular petrol-powered 2022 Outlander. A two-row version will continue to be available" one of the article says. So we get a 7 seater, very interesting. It appears Mitsi has made chan...

Re: Advice for a long drive

I agree that the battery takes less charge as it gets full, but some recent experimenting I have done with a Scanguage 2, shows that although the charge rate is slowing down, the instantaneous MPG goes up, so the energy is not going to waste,it goes directly to the drive wheels... Not a bad thing. ...

Re: Battery Charge/Save Buttons

I did a test once around town early on a Sunday morning with no stop and go traffic in series mode between 40 and 60 kph (different speed zones but it is mostly 60 kph) and averaged 6.5lts/100kms. In parallel mode for the same fuel consumption I can do approx 90 kph. That tells me all I need to know...

Re: Battery Charge/Save Buttons

Thanks for that (and the condescending tone) but it doesn't really answer the question I asked. It says that if you are going to run at higher speeds, it is more efficient to run the PHEV in Series mode if the battery is low. So indeed Mitsubishi (and Chevy with the Volt - are there others?) wouldn...

Re: Battery Charge/Save Buttons

G'day Trex - nice to have some clarity on this from "the old days". ;) You'd think after 7 years of discussion that this subject might have died a death but too many newbies. Glad to see "down under" on the new UK travel green list, even you won't let us in yet! G'day Mr greendwarf Sir...

Re: Battery Charge/Save Buttons

All I asked originally was, "Please show me a link to research that proves that this is true for our PHEV. I have still not seen any scientific proof in 3 years of ownership." You can argue all you want, but you haven't answered the question. And then you get angry because I point out you haven't a...
