Re: Front shock dust cover bellows shredded

Standard. "They all do that Sir". I personally wouldn't bother as the new ones will only go the same way in a short space of time.

If I did, I'd probably slice them along their length and slide them on and superglue back together rather than go to the hassle of removing top mount etc.

Re: Remote app

the new app must be used. don't know what version of android it needs though. that error can be that you have not got the connection right, i.e. you have not disconnected from other wifi networks and have not turned off mobile data.

Re: Slight squeal from rear

How do you link "cheap rubbish" to "French"? Rather insulting and xenophobic, wouldn't you say? By being a professional engineer in the automotive business at a Tier 1 supplier for 12 years. Not xenophobic, possibly insulting, but factual. Can you say that the brake calipers used on the Outlander w...

Re: Slight squeal from rear

I seem to have lost my 'signature' which gave the model details, but it's a 2016 'face lift' bought in Dec 2015. So still covered by the 5-year warranty. My mistake, the signature is there, just in small grey print. My mistake, I see it now. Yes it's covered by warranty and you'll probably find tha...

Re: Can we clear up Serial vs Parallel drive?

For more power? How do you suppose that you can get more power out of the engine when it is linked to the road wheel speed in Parallel mode than when it is free to rev higher in Series mode? As with pretty much every engine ever built, (generally) more revs = more power For any given rpm, there wil...

Re: Eco button

We have noticed when we press the ECO button the accelerator pedal feels slightly different, That's its primary purpose - to remap the pedal to make it less sensitive according to my manual is limits the aircon and heater Your manual, along with everyone else's, states that it may or may not limit ...

Re: Slight squeal from rear

You don't say what model year, but rear caliper seizure is common even after a so called countermeasure in early 2016. If it is that, try and get a decent goodwill replacement - good luck.

Re: Rumbling noise comes from the rear of the car when driving above 40mph and increases with speed.

Any impact that requires wheel replacement should be accompanied by wheel bearing replacement. An impact like that will cause damage to the bearing race where the bearings have made a point load contact.

Re: Outlander PHEV's 1500W Inverter: Pure Sine Wave!

I'm sure you could put an inverter across the auxiliary battery and it would "work". BUT A 1200W inverter will draw 100A and 2400W one, 200A (keeping the arithmetic simple). You'd need a similar fuse and some hefty wires, too. A problem will arise, I fear, if you consume more than half the capacity...
