Re: Parking Brake Mechanism UK Recall...

And it finally happened! Me of little faith... Two splendid new rear calipers. The one on the passenger side (UK RHD) has a red blob of paint on it and the one on the driver's side has a blue blob of paint on it. Here are some pictures...

Re: Newby..... a little question

No, window switchgear doesn't illuminate. In the dark I still frequently lower the rear window by mistake. My 1998 Jeep Cherokee had considerably better quality (and illuminated) window switches than the PHEV. Had the dubious pleasure of driving a Mitsubishi Mirage a couple of weeks ago (Mitsubishi ...

Re: New (2nd hand Owner) 2014 - 2nd Key Fob question

I'd try putting a new battery in the fob first (CR2032 Halfords) - might not be the problem but could be...

Re: Make your wipers stand up when you turn off the car

Hmm, interesting - tell me about your childhood... Or maybe you're right - found this on Nissan Leaf forum "If you turn your Leaf off and during short period of time push & hold wiper stalk upwards wipers will raise in "change wiper position". So maybe there's a secret, hidden 'change wiper positon'...

Re: Make your wipers stand up when you turn off the car

I've just tried to discover what this phenomenon could be - but without success. The wipers do work in the 'orange light' power button auxillary position, but don't work at all in any of the wiper switch option positions, if the power button is in the totally 'off' position. So I don't know how this...

Re: Buy original rims

The OEM alloy rims for my 2014 GX4h are made by Enkei of Japan, there's an Enkei logo stamped onto the inner rim spoke - have a look at the inner rim on yours to see if it says Enkei anywhere. Doubt if Enkei will supply any cheaper (if at all) than Mitsubishi but maybe worth a try. Same situation he...

Re: charger wont lock while charging

I've been using my 3-pin Mitsubishi charge cable on a 5 metre extension lead (proper heavy duty EV job from Tough Leads) and noticed that the 3-pin plug on the end of the Mitsubishi lead - plugged into the extension lead - gets quite hot, but not worryingly so. But the extension lead 3-pin plug into...

I'd try and persuade your place of work to get with the times and install some charge points - they're going to need to sooner or later. There are probably grants available to implement this.

Re: Factory Oil Type for Outlander PHEV

Probably depends on where the new vehicle is destined for - ie. the temperature extremes the oil is likely to encounter. In the UK you'll be lucky to find much below -10oC or much above +35oC. We seem to use 5W30 fully synthetic oil. Not the case in other parts of the world. I've seen 0W20 quoted fo...
