Remote starter - PHEV 2019

Does anyone know if theres a way (or have already done) to install a remote starter on the PHEV 2019? Since the range of the "Outlander PHEV" app is so bad I want to be able to start remotely the car like I would do for a regular car. Be it start the electric engine or start the ICE for a few min when the temperature is very cold so that the car heat a bit in times that I'm not in range of the car wifi.

I don't think that is possible. The only way I know of to start the ICE on demand is to hold the Charge button for 10 seconds. Standard remote start systems won't work on the Outlander since it uses it's integrated motor/generator to start the ICE.

The remote app lets you pre heat the car for 10, 20 or 30 minutes. If poor range is the issue, there are other threads in this forum where people have described setting up WiFi range extenders so they can use the Mitsubishi app from further away. That only helps when you are at home though.

Only other choice is to set a climate timer so the car automatically pre-heats at a certain time.

I can see so many scenario where this is not a great option. For example anywhere except at home. Like at work, at a guest house, etc.

This should be the answer, but the app is over 200$/year in Canada.

And for that price, not only you can't have 2 accounts for a car, but even the app for my christmas lights is better made and more reliable.

So yeah, also looking for a reliable remote starter.

let us know if you find any reliable solution that can work, the inaptitude to remote start this car is so painfull in very cold winter days.
