Cant decide if my 19my Black Outlander has too much chrome on it :?
Has anyone de-chromed anything on their Outlander and if so have any pics ?
Regards

Not particularly helpful but indirectly I felt the same but made this decision before I bought one. I actually bought grey because it did a much better job of hiding all the chrome bits.

Sorry, good luck with de-chroming, I can certainly appreciate why you would!

I have already done the lower rear bumper section and the rear chrome trim on the tailgate but can't seem to upload pic as saying too big

Raiders, I'd love to see the pic if you are still around and can figure it out.

Sometimes I think I am the only person in North America who hates chrome. Not only is it ugly but compared to paint, or better yet unfinished plastic, it is horribly environmentally unfriendly to produce.

I am thinking about vinyl wrap. More waste...

From the UK FB page... accidental de-chroming

I hate this fake Chrome and I already started to remove at the back.

Will also remove front and side (around the windows).

I used car wrapping in black.

Now that’s unfair  Mitsubishi added loads of fake Chrome because the customers found the car not “luxurious “ enough!

Still can't work out how to put an image on

Today I wrapped this side fake chrome stuff in carbon. two or three bubbles, but this will gone from the sun till tomorrow.
This is fitting perfect to the carbon of my front and back spoiler kits.

Will do also something on the front after my vacation.

Hi Raiders - I can't believe you started this thread! I feel the exact same way and, in my old car, I started de-chroming it but wasn't doing a good job. It was an older car so I wasn't too bothered.

I'm doing my research now but was wondering how everyone is getting on? Could you tell me how to remove the pieces of trim and what method you found best to cover the fake chrome, please?

Many thanks in advance and for your photo's, if you use an image editor such as 'Paint' in Windows, you can crop them to reduce their size and save it with a lower the resolution which will reduce the file size and maybe be small enough to get them posted?

Cheers

Hi Bloggsy ,
I took mine to a local chap who wraps cars professionally. I had the tailgate trim and lower bumper done , also had the rear screen tinted down a lot more. Almost a year ago and the wrap looks good as new

That's good to know. I'll maybe experiment myself with some wrap (when it stops raining!).

Thanks - I'll post how I get on.

Cheers
