Hi all,

I'm having issues with low-quality and grossery store-bought USB cables with Android Auto, I can get the USB link error message about 20 times while fiddling with the cable and my phone and finally having a stable enough connexion and shove my phone in the central console.

Anyone has links to reliable cables online?

Also, what do you do to not forget your phone in the central console?

I bought one of these https://www.belkin.com/uk/p/P-F8J168/ and a cable from Carphone Warehouse. The holder is right in front of the USB port so works really well.

Some USB cables are not fully wired and meant for charging only. Make sure you buy a proper one. Buy one from any computer shop.

I don't have any USB port near the radio or the cup holder. The only USB port for the MMCS is inside the central console, or inside the armrest-trunk, whatever you call it ;)

I'll try swaping the storebought cable for another one that came with the phone. It may sound fashion-silly, but I bought the one from the store because the color fitted with the car. Ah well, you can have a good data cable any color you want, as long as it's black.

However, if the official cable acts up too, could there be a condensation/wiring issue with the MMCS system ?

Same happened to me, the issue was that the socket wasn't a great fit (tried a few cables) ended up squeezing the usb cable out of shape a little (bit it) so it was a snuggle fit and its been fine since then.
