My electric charging point door is operating fine in terms of fit and springloaded opening and closing.

However, when closed it is not "catching closed" and can be easily pulled open with the top of a finger being inserted in and easy pull forward. In other words, it doesn't shut or lock so that you have to press it again to spring open. This means when driving the vibrations of the car opens the door so it's ajar when driving.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks for your help!

(Outlander PHEV 5 circa 2016).

On my 2013 there is a horizontal spring-loaded catch in grey plastic.
It should easily retract and extend when you push it in with your finger.
If not, lube with a small amount of furniture polish and then exercise with your finger until it moves freely.

If that is okay then check the latch on the lid.
Does it align with the catch ?
