Mitsubishi UK has announced the Outlander plug-in hybrid will qualify for the countries £5,000 Plug In Car Grant.
The Outlander plug-in meets the requirements set out by The Office For Low Emission Vehicles.

Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors UK, Lance Bradely, says:
“The vehicle is extra-ordinary and very different to other hybrids in the market and we are delighted that the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has met the high level of criteria required to qualify for the Plug in Car Grant.”

“Having one of the first plug-in hybrid’s in the UK market that boasts 4×4 capability with an EV range of 32.5 miles and emissions as low as 44 g/km puts Mitsubishi at the forefront of a new era in the automotive industry.”

Is this the same as the grant you get to install a charging station on your wall at home? As I understand it, Volvo say that the £5,000 grant from the government is used to pay British Gas to install the charging station at your home for their V60 vehicle.

Alternatively; will they not just increase the price of the car in the UK and then pretend it is cheaper because of the £5000 grant? That's the problem with grants like this.
