Hope everyone is ok in this awful pandemic. Trying to buy a 2016 GX4hs - 41k miles - from a non Mitsubishi car dealer - they are offering an RAC Platinum Warranty at £599, 799 or 999 for 1, 2 or 3 years. It includes roadside assist and MOT failure insurance. However I've heard from a couple of mechanics that it would be better to buy Mitsubishi's own (or always the manufacturers' own) extended warranty (£350 per year every year with no multiple years offers).
Please can those who know shed some light on whether the mechanics are right?
Also does anyone think that purchasing GAP insurance is worth it for this age and mileage of car? It's offered at £199 for 3 years by the non Mits' car dealer.
Your experience greatly appreciated as need to collect car from up north (somehow - as we're in London) very soon, before end of the year.
(The car's transferred 5 year manu' warranty / 8 year battery warranty runs out in March '21).
