It WAS done years ago. That first article is from June 2011!!!

They have been using electric Defenders with the National trust and at the the Eden Project in the UK since 2013.

I am a big LR fan - the PHEV is the first time I have not had a Range Rover for over 20 years - LR were just not moving fast enough in this area for me.

I do off-road, and I do hunt. Doing it silently in the the PHEV is a real thrill...
