Yellow engine light on the dashboard

Hi folks before I start looking through the manual.
Today when I returned to my car on starting the yellow engine light stayed lite on the dash.
Anybody had or know the reason.
Mine is a 2014 g4 model 50,000 miles with full service.
Thank you in advance
 
could be any number of reasons and needs a diagnostic scanner hooking up to tell you. if somebody can tell you via the internet with this information then they've had a very lucky guess.

This was my main thought thank you
 
We had the same thing last week on our Canadian 2019, we went to the dealership and they told us there is a recall for a bad sensor that is close to the front of the car so it apparently react badly to weather (cold, rain) and they changed the sensor and now all is good since then, crossing finger for the best in the future...
