Hi again to all.
Apologies if this question has been asked previously as I can't spot it via forum answers:

What's involved, and how crucially important is it, in carrying out a 100,000 mile Filter Kit replacement (and fuel in tank replacement), as it's quoted at £174.50 and £84.95 per hour labour (all + vat).
With all the other low priced items that are listed on the service sheet - a total of about £78 inc vat - the whole invoice will come to £616.33 inc vat,...Wow!

I thought that paying out £250.00 'ish for a service was expensive enough, but over Half a Grand seems a bit excessive?

Not wishing to be a cheap-skate, it makes me wonder if pouring some 'pre MOT test' fluid into the fuel tank would clean it out just as well (IF it was necessary) for about £3.00???

Or am I missing a point here or sumfink?

Thanks in advance, the Cardinal..

The in-tank fuel filter looks like any other car.
The filters can be a little fiddly to swap over but you just need patience & cleanliness.

The Mitsubishi Phev service costs are tiny compared with the Landrover Discovery.
One of the many reasons I quit Landrover ownership.... ;)

Thanks jaapv for your most detailed and informative reply, very useful to know but I don't think I will be attempting it myself.

I did just wonder how important it really is as its all working and running fine right now, and never had any problems with the PHEV as I have always had the full service when required, so thought 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'?

But is that rather 'short sighted' in as much that it might be broke before long if it doesn't get done?

And yes, it's still a lot of money to me!

Kind regards,
The Cardinal..
