On 02/28/2019, Mitsubishi USA's website was updated with MY2019 (not sure if this means MY2020 with the full powertrain updates will be arriving next February too), and price has increased at both the base (SEL) and higher trim levels (GT) by $1,200: https://www.mitsubishicars.com/outlander-phev/2019 With that price increase, there are added features and upgrades mentioned here: http://www.myoutlanderphev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3755
Adding the Diamond White Pearl color has increased from $200 to $295. Along with the powertrain upgrades the USA version will not get compared to the rest of the world, it will also not be getting the brake upgrades. However, I am pleased to see that the updated rear spoiler is standard, previously a $329 accessory option (https://mparts411.com/accessories/2018/outlanderphev/exterioraccessories/tailgate-spoiler-0). A summary of the similarities and differences between the two trims:
Standard across both SEL and GT trims:
What one gets with the USA SEL trim that is not on the GT trim, starting price is $35,795:
What one gets with the USA GT trim, starting price is $41,495 ($5,700 higher than SEL):
Personal note: I hate how many manufacturers limit the LED headlights to the highest trim, it's one of the most important functional features for me, but I'm not willing to pay $5,700 for it. Some manufacturers, like BMW, usually allow one to upgrade just the headlights regardless of trim. Also wish the heated steering wheel would be standard. As I mentioned previously, I am happy that the updated rear spoiler is now standard on both trims. But I do find it interesting that with an almost $6,000 upgrade, there is little aesthetic difference between the two trims, the most noticeable being only the headlight and foglight designs. I would have thrown in an upgraded wheel design for the GT trim, perhaps the optional Hajimari's that are available in Europe: https://www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/accessories/items/62
UPDATE: 03/01/2019 - 04/01/2019: there is already a $1000 Factory rebate on the MY2019 PHEV: https://www.mitsubishicars.com/special-offers-detail?modelCode=OTEV&modelYr=2019&detailId=8639&offerType=FACTORY
