We have just recently bought an 2017 outlander phev and cannot figure out why there is a beeping from what sounds like the external rear of the car when the brake is pressed or the right turn signal is on. It doesn't happen any other time, I have turned off AVAS which hasn't helped. Any ideas?

The only beeping from the rear that I've experienced, is the warning when the electric rear door is operating.

Some models could have a reversing warning too I suppose.

Is there any sign of anyone having fiddled with the electrics?

I've seen all kinds of weird electrical behaviour when someone has miss-wired a trailer plug.

Could be the rear seat belt warning. I assume they are a pressure sensor of some kind and can be oversensitive to car movements - mine have started random beeps but I do get the console info-graphic of the red dots, as well.
