I am working out the best way to use our 2018 PHEV for camping, and it would be helpful to be able to temporarily remove at least one section of the split rear seat. Has anyone had experience doing this?

As there is no gain in removing the backrests, they fold down onto the bottom of the car to make a flat floor, it would be best to just remove the seat parts at the hinges.

Not sure if you are aware but the bit you sit on can be lifted and tilted forwards into the rear foot-well.
The backs of the rear seats will then fold down pretty flat.

And if you do remove the seat you will be left with a huge hump in the middle of the floor that contains the REMCU (rear electric motor control unit) and possibly the heater if you have one.
