Hi... a tree crashed into our UK model (white Outlander Gx 4H Phev S-A 2015) passenger side wing mirror. It has broken the glass, and cracked the black plastic frame, the white outer cover and smashed the glass.

The garage where we get the MOT done says its not possible to get the spare parts anymore, and if we could it would be too expensive to be worth it, since it contains a camera module.

Looking at ebay, it seems you can get the glass for about a tenner, and the outside white frame for about 50 quid, so one option is to use epoxy to repair the black inner frame, and get a new cover and glass.

You can get whole units on ebay for about £150 but these do not have the camera module in.

Does anyone know if the (working) camera module can be transplanted from the broken mirror to a new one please?

Any other bright ideas?
thank you,
George

They are BS ing you. Parts are available for this model.

As for repairing, the camera module should fit, but you would need to swop out the entire loom from old mirror to new mirror, as it all goes through one sealed connection to stop water getting into the car.

Your garage is talking through its hat - I inquired about a new mirror interior only yesterday, as I broke an edge off the black part. The price was horrendous though, 749 Euro, so I decided to live with it.
