Hi guys.
Can anyone in laman terms explain the difference between the save and charge mode ?
I mean like backed by long motorway driving and fuel consumption etc.
Trying to get the most miles out of this great big lump but it doesn't like motorways very much.....
Drinks like hell this thing when pushed to 80 and battery disappears is seconds..
Will save help a bit ? Or charge mode
? Cheers guys.

Save mode only runs the engine to power the drivetrain, not charge the battery above the charge level when the save button was pressed.
Charge mode does both unless the drive train is consuming all the available production, such as towing heavy load (ie, slower is better) :D

Not true.

Charge mode builds up battery level when it can until you tell it not to.

Save mode maintains the level of charge that you have when you press you the button. You will use a bit of battery and then it will effectively go into Charge mode until it has built the charge back up to where you started and then use the battery again. This cycle will repeat.

What's the point? Well, by cycling the engine on and off in Save mode, you can make the overall cycle more efficient. An engine running at low load is not efficient, whereas at high load it gets more efficient. So by only running it at high load or it being off, that is more efficient than if it ran for the whole period at low or medium load.
