    Colour code for "silver trim"

When I needed a replacement I found that they only came pre painted in silver. In the past I have got one film wrapped in a matt silver which was a fairly good match to the original and cheaper than painting at the time. If needed it can be unclipped from behind the bumper to make it easier to wrap.

    HUD Display??

I expect you have looked on Amazon / Ebay already where you will find a reasonable selection of Speedometer HUDs. For one year I successfully used an AUTOOL Solar GPS HUD Speedometer . It didn't actually project onto the windscreen, but I didn't require this and ran it from a 12v connector (...

    Outlander GX4H 2016 vs 4H 2017

All 2017 Mitsubishi PHEVs including the 4H have zero road tax if first registration is before 1st April 2017. If registered after then they are all taxed and if its a 4HS its very high road tax! Personally I like using the EV button - it certainly does discourage the engine from starting -...

Any queries or suggestions of Mitsubishi Japan's engineers?

If sticky buttons mean you can start the car from last settings or can adjust them within settings to stay set I would go for that too. For example, I like to be able to start with EV, BO and auto hand brake. But as most people know it is necessary to reset all of these every time the car is...

    Choices for next car

I've not had a company car so not sure if it is relevant to you, but if you have to pay the road tax it is going to be above the £40000 threshold on the 5HS but just below the £40000 threshold on the 4H as long as extras haven't taken it over it. That could make a lot of difference over 3 years...

    Steering lock

If you are still considering a steering lock there is currently an excellent deal at £39.99 in Halfords sale for the Stoplock Pro Elite. Its actually cheaper than the standard Pro. A real bargain and definitely fits far easier to the Outlander steering wheel than the standard one.

    Steering lock

The Stoplock Pro Elite version fits quite well. It has a larger bend in it than the standard version and therefore its possible to put it on the steering wheel without it beeping the horn. It is a visual deterrent and certainly a physical deterrent for many people, but I'm not sure if any lock...

    Hard Wiring Dashcam

Bounderboy, its not that hard to take the glovebox out and piggy back the dash cam into an accessory fuse. The earth can be put onto a bolt near the fuse box. Its very easy to run the wire to the dash cam by just pushing it into the headlining via the door trim and around the windscreen. I used...

    Scrape on rear bumper

If you mean the silver rear valance , this is held on by a number of slide clips inside the bumper and can be replaced - although it costs around £180 from Mitsubishi but does come ready painted in silver. I had a a bit of damage on my rear valance so I took it off - reshaped the cut slightly...

    Blind Spot Warning (BWS) Fault

There are radar sensors just behind the rear bumper below the rear lights in each corner which I guess work for rear traffic movement and Blind Spot Warning

Considering a PHEV as next car

Have you considered a nearly new car – perhaps a 4H – this I feel has some good extras over the Juro . Remember if you went for a 4hs its going to be in the higher road tax bracket since its price is over £40000. That would be the case even for a nearly new car or demonstrator that has been...

Milage/Eco display ... what does it mean?

Hi mellobob, you say "Honestly, if I'm really getting 6.9 l/100km I'd be very happy." Well from my experience, the average fuel consumption recorded on the display between petrol refills is reasonably accurate on relatively long trips when compared to full to full petrol calculations, although...

    Extension cable?

I've used this Masterplug CT1510/IPS 13amp 1 Socket IP54 Weatherproof 15m Extension Lead many times completely successfully over several years in various places when normal options such as a dedicated post is not available. As others have said make sure the socket it is connected to is up to the...

    Chargemaster

Try wiggling the cable at the car end when its plugged in. You may find that its a poor connection in the lead near where the connector is and it might intermittently start charging. If this is the case it really should be covered under warranty. Even if this does not work, these units really...

    Tow bar questions?

Yes the Tow Trust bar does instruct to remove the impact beam and not replace it - I think its due to the shape of the tow bar. However the Witter bar ( demountable type) , which I believe is the one used as a Mitsubishi accessory or of course can be bought and fitted by an independent fitter -...
