    New MY13 owner - a couple questions

When you remove the original battery you would have to add the specified amount of oil for the system. The oil and refrigerant are both non conductive for the EV system, and you need a special dedicated EV A/C machine to empty and replenish the system. Here in Australia you have to be licensed...

2023 Outlander PHEV steering wheel buttons

There is a known concern with the steering wheel switches. Not a huge amount of them failing, but enough to get Mitsubishis attention. The current fix is replacement for the faulty parts, as no modified or improved parts have been announced as yet.

Cruise Control - Stop and Go with 2023 PHEV

The very latest versions with Mi-Pilot (which have a green button on the steering wheel) have this function, along with some other functions. But unless you have Mi-Pilot, then your ACC is behaving normally

Interested in Purchasing 2023 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV – Seeking Advice regarding battery degradation

I don't believe that the 2014+ PHEV suffered with it. In the 2023 PHEV MMC have changed a lot in the software and hardware, just as a lot of tech has changed in the last 9 years. There are added features to control temperature and charging rates, as well as being modern technology in the...

    Servicing and Parts

No issues with MMCS You might need to cycle all the auto windows up and down to rest anti pinch Even so, MMC give the advice to disconnect the 12v to stop any possible problems. If that PHEV ECU decides to start the engine it will not care if you have no oil in it or filter on it, it will...

    Servicing and Parts

The manufacturer specifies you disconnect the traction battery before servicing. This is in case you accidentally leave the vehicle in "ready" mode, and the car decides to run the ICE whilst you have no oil in it, and also to further reduce the risk of a shock due to accidentally touching...

I think the factory ones are just made out of crappy material.

    ICE on in 2023

The new 2023 Outlanderhas a very similar drivetrain to the earlier models in 2014. Still the 4B12 ICE, although with a modified cylinder head. The Traction battery is all new, as are the connectors.

    Multiple Faults indicated on dashboard

OBD code readers can struggle with the protocols on a PHEV. Maybe i should have been more precise with the codes needing to be read on a MUT3 dealer tool.

    Multiple Faults indicated on dashboard

You need to get the fault codes read. When a single fault occurs it can spread a code around multiple systems. An ABS code for instance will generate Engine codes, and cruise control codes, because when the ABS system stops working the cruise control no longer has the ability to slow the...
